Happy birthday Tennessee! Today marks the 225th year of the foundation of the state’s government. For one day and one day only, you can view the original state constitution on display at the Tennessee State Library and Archives.
The first document constitution was made in 1796. The second one was revised in the 1830’s and one more time in 1870. All three will be on display.
Along with the constitutions on display there will be interactive exhibits and tours of the new building. There will also be a birthday celebration at 10a.m. in Bicentennial Park.
All these experiences are completely free!
